X-Country debut run at Bath University
Sunday the 8th November 2009 saw a small team of Cotswold Allrunners make the clubs debut in the X-country running arena at Bath University. 5 runners entered the 2nd race of the Gwent League season at Bath on a very wet and cold afternoon.
In the ladies race Kate McEvoy was making her debut in X-country running, having never been forced at school like most of us and never having worn a pair of spikes either, excelled in the 3 lap race over mostly grass, but with virtually no flat, to finish 112th in a field of nearly 200.
Next was Natasha Marshall making a comeback to off-road running since winning her last 2 races over 20 years ago. After an issue with a sock which meant a brief halt, she got on and ran a very determined race to finish 147th.
